Moreish Cakes as a concept started back in 2009 when founder and artist, Monica Cavallaro, started creating celebration cakes for her family. As the years went by, requests started to filter in from family and friends for cakes and bakes for parties. It was only when offers to pay for bakes come in did Monica think, there is something here…..
In 2013, after a long battle with illness, Monica, needing a creative outlet placed her spare energy into baking and perfecting her recipes with the view to officially launch and grow Moreish Cakes.
Having had cakes published in local news letters and small magazines, including some great shares online in social media, Monica is always keen to show case skills, motivation and inspiration where ever possible. Monica maintains great friendships with local and overseas fellow cake makers and loves nothing more than a cup of chai tea and a cake chat!
Monica adores to take a cake idea or concept to the next level. She is always hungry to learn more and pours her heart and talent into each and every cake and experiments constantly with techniques and products.
Having recently completed filming on the 2016 series of The Great Australian Bake Off and finishing as a Finalist on the Foxtel network, Monica is excited with the prospect of the future of her baking and is looking forward to sharing her new found skills and confidence with everyone. Bake Off was a huge challenge for her physically with her condition and she was extremely proud of how hard she worked and how she was able to get through each day of filming. Check out the blog for more about each episode!
2017 series of Married At First Sight on channel 9 saw Monica contribute wedding cakes for all the Sydney weddings. This was a total of 6 gorgeous show stopping cakes. From there her cakes have been seen in Woman’s Weekly, New Idea and Woman’s Day. Check out the blog for more behind scenes on these cakes! Plus the gossip!
In May 2017, Monica attended, judged and compared the Live Cake Off at Australia’s first International Cake Show in Brisbane and she looks forward to doing the same in 2018.
Registered also with both The Australian Cake Decorating Network and The Australian Cake Decorating Association. Monica has also recently had cakes featured on the Satin Ice with her own landing page and Bakerswood social media pages. Featured in blogs in one of her favourite supplier’s, Topperoo too!
